Face Washout

Here, i show you how to create the wacky face washout!

Ok. Let’s begin. First, open up the file in photoshop.

Select the lasso tool from the tool bar. You could use either the polygonal or the free hand lasso tool. Whichever suits you. Make a selection below the mouth as shown. Then, press Ctrl+J to duplicate the selection onto a new layer.

Move the layer created to cover the mouth. Duplicate again if necessary. I've duplicated it thrice to cover the mouth as you can see below.

Next, use the easer tool with a soft brush and remove the edges of the 'cover up' layers to give it a continuous look.

Then, select the clone stamp tool from the tool bar (this tool basically stores a pattern from a reference and clones it around the reference). Move the cursor to a reference point as shown and hold down the Alt key. You will see the cursor change to target mode. Then, click to set your reference. Paint around the border of the mouth using a soft brush to enhance the continuity of the figure. Repeat this all around the mouth.

Then select the sharpen tool from the tool bar and sharpen the mouth region. It is the tool shaped like a triangle.

Then repeat the same stuff for the eyes. Make a selection at the cheeks and duplicate it on to the eyes

Use the eraser, the clone stamp tool and the sharpen tool again on the eye.

Repeat the same on the other eye and viola! You have you're washed out face all set and ready! :)
